The festival of Litha, Summer Solstice or Midsummer is also a celebration of the Goddess and God at the height of their power. They are the King and Queen of the fertile lands, and together they rule over the fertile, growing Earth. The Summer Solstice or Litha is the longest day of the year - on June 21/22 (Dec 21/22 in Southern Hemisphere). The Anglo-Saxon name for June and July is Litha, so the name is often used for midsummer festivities. It is important to note that the separation of the light and dark halves of the year have nothing to do with good and evil. Light signifies growth and expansion; dark means withdrawal and rest. Both are necessary.
At Litha, the first official day of summer, we celebrate the warmth of the sun's rays on us and its nourishing effect on the earth, the plants, trees, and even the waters.

A Message from the Goddess Litha:
"There are no 'good' or 'bad' products and services, just ones that impact more and ones that impact less on on biodiversity, human health and the climate, so choose consciously".
Midsummer Meditation:

Today marks the next festival on the "Wheel of the Year". Pagan traditions basically mirror nature to work with the natural cadence of life. In summer, the pull to nature is deep and strong, it pulses within and through us. Join in with this meditation to journey through gardens of light and blooming life, and allow this beautiful day to bring you abundance and celebration!

Solstice Inspiration:

Plant a Tree: Trees provide the very necessities of life itself. They clean our air, protect our drinking water, create healthy communities, and feed the human soul. We love the idea of planting trees to combat pollution. If you join the Arbor Day Foundation, they will send you ten trees. Or they will plant ten trees for you. Memberships are as little as $10. Not too bad a deal.

An Inconvenient Truth is a 2006 American documentary film directed by Davis Guggenheim about former United States Vice President Al Gore's campaign to educate people about global warming. The film features a slide show that, by Gore's own estimate, he has presented over a thousand times to audiences worldwide. Winning several awards the movie aims to raise public awareness of the dangers of global warming and calls for immediate action to curb its destructive effects on the environment.
